Kat Gonso (she/her) is a Boston-based writer and professor of the practice in English at Boston College. She also teaches in the MFA program at Emerson College.

Kat was recently named the Dr. Herb Voigt Writer-in-Residence of the Milton Public Library (2026 - 2028). She looks forward to working with the Milton community.

Her story “Love Spell” was nominated by New Flash Fiction Review for the 2026 Best Microfiction Series.

Her short prose has been widely published and won numerous awards, including The Southeast Review’s World’s Best Short-Short Story Contest, the Grover Award for Fiction, and the Wigleaf Top 50 short fictions. She earned her M.F.A. from Emerson College.

Kat is grateful to be doing the work she loves: writing and co-creating knowledge with students.
